- Scope of work
The main role of the consultant is to provide technical support to CamboJA’s Research & Advocacy program to be effective on CamboJA’s monitoring, documenting and advocacy actions. . The role aims to support the RA program in compiling documented cases and information into well-written, comprehensive reports in English and Khmer, which are regularly published on an annual and quarterly basis.

| To work with Research & Advocacy Officer (RAO) to closely monitor court cases, conduct trial monitoring, field investigation, monitor, gather, collect, and verify/factcheck information/evidence/supporting documents regarding incidents of harassment, restrictions, or media rights violations through media monitoring, desk research, interviews, etc., as the case happens as well as conducting regular reviews, follow-ups, and updates and ensure the accuracy of the information before submission to Research & Advocacy Manager (RAM). | N/A | Daily works |

| Produce investigation/study reports, case analysis and report, and factsheets (for prominent case every quarter and annually after finalizing quarterly and annually journalism monitoring reports) following the investigation/fieldwork in Khmer and English for submission to RAM. | At least 2 cases report and 3 quarterly and annual monitoring reports are translated from English to Khmer. | 1st factsheet produced in 1st week of October 2nd factsheet produced on 3rd week of December and annual factsheet produced by the end of Dec 2024. |

Required Qualification
The selected applicant must have the following qualifications and experiences:
- Knowledge of Cambodia’s media landscape and journalists’ rights
- Understanding of different dimensions of journalists’ safety including the gendered nature of harassment against women journalists
- At least five years of professional experience in producing news reports in English and/or Khmer.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism and other related fields
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Khmer
- Ability to travel to provinces independently or in team to conduct fieldwork as assigned
- Ability to commit to strict deadlines and flexible working hours
