About CamboJA
Established by a number of Cambodian journalists in 2019, CamboJA is an independent network of professional journalists and media professionals in Cambodia.
CamboJA is registered with the Ministry of Information on September 9, 2019 and with the Ministry of Interior on December 8, 2020, as an association.
The association is running programs in three interlinked areas to strengthen support for Cambodian journalists. The three programs include CamboJA News, Capacity Development, and Research & Advocacy.
We are currently seeking a highly competent independent consultant to conduct a research study “on impacts of digital rights restriction on media freedom and freedom of expression on the internet.”
Scope of Work
The consultant is expected to conduct an independent research study through desk reviews, interviews with relevant stakeholders working on press freedom, internet freedom, freedom of expression, and focus group discussions (FGDs) to find out the impacts of digital rights restriction on media freedom and freedom of expression on the internet. Issues of concerns among journalists, media professionals, digital rights working group members shall be raised in the report, and recommendations will be provided. The consultant is expected to work for approximately one month or 28 days to produce the report.

Qualifications
- Excellent skills in both qualitative and quantitative research study
- Knowledge of Cambodia’s media landscape, press freedom, freedom of expression, and digital rights
- Experiences in conducting research study, especially on media freedom and digital rights
- Experiences in research study report writing with creative design
- Excellent English writing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Responsiveness in communications
